sql plugin fails to connect

What is your testing method?  Does your test script run on the same server
as your IMAP server (and your mysql server?).  Does it ramp up to 500
concurrent connections or launch 500 connections all at once (the later is
not a realistic situation to expect in almost all mail architechures).
