ctl_mboxlist ignores configdirectory

Hello
Since I've moved the /var/lib/imap to an other partition 
(/vhosts/impa/lib) I get the following error:

ctl_mboxlist[8804]: DBERROR db3: /var/lib/imap/mailboxes.db: No such 
file or directory

/etc/imapd.conf looks like this:

-- snip --
configdirectory: /vhosts/imap/lib
-- snip --

O.K. , in man pages I read that there's a option -f <filename> for 
ctl_mboxlist ... but I also read that it defaults to 
<configdirectory>/mailboxes.db ?!
My quick and dirty solution was to soft link /var/lib/imap to 
/vhosts/imap/lib - but that's not the way I'm used to :)
I'm using SuSE 9.0
