Dear fellow Cyrus-IMAP users:
During a recent server upgrade, cp was used without the -p flag to
relocate my users' mailboxes. As such, all of the new files were
created with a filesystem timestamp reflecting the time of backup.
I am considering writing a script that will look for the Date: header
inside each e-mail and set the timestamp of the file according to its
value. Is this the right approach or is there a more appropriate header
that I should be looking at, or would I be advised not to risk this at
all?
Finally, I would appreciate any feedback on what Perl (or other
language) modules could be useful in this endeavor.
Thanks!
