Are these connections from the same running client (separate threads) or
two entirely different sessions?

I have no idea why it would do a LIST after a successful SELECT.  The
FETCH might be because this is the first time that the client opened the
mailbox.

Is this behavior repeatable?  What happens if you manually select the
Sent folder before sending a message?

I don't see the server doing anything wrong.  Does this only happen with
Cyrus?  Can you post a similar log from a different (working) server?
