hahaha, just checked out current cvs of sasl2 and cyrus imapd, compiled, 
worked out of the box!!

I _really_ think you should at least release a new version of cyrus (2.1.16) 
or make a big fat note that the user may experience strange problems with 
cram-md5 :|
