Thanks Ken for you reply.
Now I have unixhierarchysep switched on what is the correct way to add
users?
Is it "cm user.test" or "cm user/test" or dose it not matter.
My goal is to allow usernames with dots in them i.e. joe.bloggs.
Any help or guidance is appreciated (back to the wall at the mo and
clocks ticking) :-)

No. You can turn unixhierarchysep on and off without breaking anything.
This option only changes how mailboxes are displayed to the clients --
the internal names are still dot-delimited. When unixhierarchysep is
enabled, any '.' are mapped to '~' before being stored.
