Thanks Euquene,
I tried "saslpasswd cyrus". I got the following messages:
Sep 16 11:29:55 bwc-imap-01 saslpasswd: PLAIN: set secret for cyrus
Sep 16 11:29:56 bwc-imap-01 saslpasswd: DIGEST-MD5: set secret for cyrus
Sep 16 11:29:56 bwc-imap-01 saslpasswd: CRAM-MD5: set secret for cyrus
But when I try "telnet localhost imap". Then "login cyrus password". I got
the error:
Sep 16 11:30:46 bwc-imap-01 imapd[6641]: badlogin: web4[127.0.0.1] plaintext
cyrus SASL(-13): user not found: checkpass failed
My /etc/imapd.conf is:
configdirectory: /var/imap
partition-default: /var/spool/imap
admins: cyrus root
srvtab: /var/imap/srvtab
allowanonymouslogin: no
sasl_password_check: shadow
mailnotifier: log
Any thing else I should do?
Su

To create or reset the password for the user cyrus, just type 'saslpasswd
cyrus'.
