When I originally suggested the ability to bind a service (lmtp in
my case) to a particular interface, I thought that the above syntax
would be good to support since the notation of '[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]'
seems fairly widespread.

To the original poster, I read your post but couldn't see why it
wasn't working.  If it is mentioned in the man page, then you
should have a recent enough version.
