Plaintext Authentication on FreeBSD 4.6.2

I can use testsaslauthd without problem: 

[root at myhost saslauthd]# ./testsaslauthd  -u cyrus -p GOODPASSWORD
0: OK "Success."
[root at myhost saslauthd]# ./testsaslauthd  -u cyrus -p BADPASSWORD 
0: NO "authentication failed"
[root at myhost saslauthd]#
