Dear DANCE Community,

We are nearing the end of our first year of DANCE. Thanks for joining us on this journey! As the year comes to a close, we still have some exciting activities to share and look forward to.

First, we are now ready to share the discussion forum xBlock we have been discussing. We consider this just a first step, and we are actively working with xBlock on version 2.0, which will be substantially more full featured and fully compatible with the production level platform.
In the mean time, we want to get the critical feedback of the DANCE community while are plans for 2.0 are still malleable. So please join in for the last DANCE online talk session of the year where we will present the xBlock to a feedback panel including Piotr Mitros from edX and two end users: Eric Klopfer from MIT and Erland Stevens from Davidson College. The session will be held on Tuesday, December 22nd at 4pm EST. As usual, it will be recorded, and available immediately after through our youtube channel. See the DANCE talk page for more information: http://dance.cs.cmu.edu/talks/

We are already lining up speakers for 2016. On January 28th we will host Ari Bader-Natal discussing an exciting and innovative online university program, how it is supported, and how its vision synergizes with our own.

Best wishes,
Oliver and Carolyn
