After a cursory look over your config stuff, it appears fine to me. Are
you running smtpd chrooted? (I believe that's the default in Debian.)
It could be a packaging bug rather a config issue. Could you file a bug
report in the Debian BTS (use the reportbug utility) so that this
doesn't get forgotten?
