Simple and basic setup NEED: use virtusertable within Sendmail so that 
the MTA already knows about valid mailboxes. Else spam with faked sender 
addresses hits innocent third and you soon may get blacklisted.

Or setup real time interaction between Sendmail and Cyrus-IMAPd with one 
of the solutions Andrzej kindly documented:
