Cyrus-sasl Digest, Vol 18, Issue 6

I've read the manual,initially it was smtpd,it wasn't working so i've changed it . 
So even if the file name is actually smtpd.conf  it must be smtpd_sasl_path = smtpd ?
Ok...i've changed it back and still not working.
Other ideas?

smtpd_sasl_path = smtpd
