failed dependecy, can't find libdb-4.4.so

hi, here is my question:

i'm having trouble installing the cyrus sasl rpms after a source rpm
rebuild, i'm getting errors that they can't find this file:
libdb-4.4.so

but the file exists and its directory is listed in my ld.so.conf...
any ideas?
