By which I mean - if you just want to renumber everything, you can:

1 select folder
2 copy 1:N folder
3 store 1:N +flags \Deleted
4 expunge

Does the trick, where 'N' is EXISTS from the select.

Or if you're running new enough Cyrus:

1 select folder
2 move 1:N folder
