On an additional note;

- What would you think would be a sane default? All RFC-compatible chars 
allowed? Would such be 7bit ASCII in your opinion?

- I just verified my suspicions with this version of the patch; the 
unixhierarchy sep. is required in the list of allowed characters, and is not 
"forcibly" included or allowed; opening up the user to a realm of destructive 
and vague problems.
