[CMUBDC] Ballroom Dance Club - Pre-Semester Update (Rush and Auditions)

[CMU Ballroom Dance Club]

Hello ballroom friends,

The Spring semester is starting soon, and that means that Rush is
coming up next
week! It will be held from 7:35-9:30 PM in Rangos Ballroom during the first
week of the semester on Tuesday and Wednesday (see the schedule below).
We’ll be holding free beginner lessons for new dancers, along with
showcases from veteran dancers. If you’re a returning member of the club,
please plan to attend to help recruit new members. Hope to see you there!

        Tuesday 1/17: Merengue and Tango

        Wednesday 1/18: Cha-Cha and Foxtrot

In addition, our professional instructors will be holding review sessions
to cover the material needed to audition for the intermediate and
advanced-level classes. You should attend the review session for the level
you were at in the previous semester. For example, if you were in the
Beginner class last semester, you should attend the Beginner review
session. Next week, you can then audition for Intermediate 1 if you want to
move up.

The following week, we will be holding auditions during the normal lesson
times for each intermediate/advanced class. Auditions are only required for
those who want to move into a higher-level class than they were previously
in. If you are unable to make the audition time for your level, please let
a board member know. Beginner and American-style classes will be held as
normal after auditions!

Carnegie Classic Updates

   From February 17-19, we are hosting the Carnegie Classic
   <https://carnegieclassic.com/>, a ballroom competition here at CMU!
   Dancers will be coming from other schools to compete, and we have
   world-class dancers coming to judge and host workshops.
