[CMUBDC] Hiring Announcement: Professional Latin/Rhythm Coach

[CMU Ballroom Dance Club]

Dear CMUBDC community,

Several weeks ago, the CMUBDC board voted to solicit nominations for the
position of Professional Latin/Rhythm Coach (following the process defined
here
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IaHdq2WlhU2K8pjOj7u9eHVQu6ipnxO460BRdHBKWN8/edit?usp=sharing>).
The board accepted the nominations of two candidates: Rozana Sweeney (our
current coach) and Dmitry Demidov. Over the past few weeks, two general
body meetings were held to collect community feedback on the candidates.
Both candidates were also interviewed by the board. Prior to voting on the
final decision, the board carefully considered and discussed the varied
opinions provided by current and former club members.

We are happy to announce the hiring of Dmitry Demidov as the CMUBDC
Professional Latin/Rhythm Coach. Dmitry is the owner of Demidov Dance
Studio, a competitive Latin dancer, and an experienced ballroom instructor.
Please welcome Dmitry to the club as he begins his coaching position in the
upcoming Fall semester.

We would also like to sincerely thank Rozana Sweeney for her many years of
quality instruction as our Latin/Rhythm coach. She has been an invaluable
instructor and mentor for the club since its early days. We continue to
support and admire Rozana in her many endeavors, and her contributions to
this club will be remembered.

Finally, we would like to thank the members of the CMUBDC community for
your participation and patience in this lengthy process. We heard a variety
of differing opinions and understand that not everyone will agree with this
outcome. As a board, we did our best to consider all perspectives in making
this difficult decision. We are excited for the future, and we hope that
you will join us with enthusiasm to begin this new chapter.
