[CMUBDC] Competition Team Announcements + Meet & Greet tomorrow!

[CMU Ballroom Dance Club]

Dear dance friends,
*Competition team meet & greet*: *Tomorrow (Saturday Feb 12) from 11:30am
to 12:30pm in the UC Danforth Conference Room*. All new members (even if
you aren't interested in competing at this point) are welcome and
encouraged to come! Veterans, please attend. This will be a great chance to
get to know the competitive team and see what we are about. Don't be scared
of competitions; newcomers only compete against newcomers at competitions
and they are friendly-competitive and a lot of fun. The competition team is
open to all, and we really hope you will join!

Remaining Competition Team announcements:

USA Dance Chapter Valentine’s Dance: Feb 19th 7pm at The Wightman School in
Squirrel Hill. Signup link <https://forms.gle/CmRAUXSqdrp8zQxc6>. Connect a
bit with the Greater Pittsburgh Area dance community and come to the
Valentine’s Dance! Amanda Wolf will be giving a Rumba Lesson followed by
general dancing. There will also be a mini-ballroom dance competition (just
for fun, it's not stressful) by CMUBDC and Pitt Ballroom members. Tickets
are $5 for students, $10 for members of USA Dance, and $15 for non-members.

*Arnold Dancesport Classic: March 5-6 in Columbus Ohio.* The Arnold Classic
is a multisports competition that includes everything from bodybuilding to
ballroom dancing. We are of course taking our team of bodybuilders to this
competition

If you do not have a partner, fill out the individual form and ask around
at lessons.
We will be doing a video review session after Arnold for all who competed.

*Smooth and Latin workshop: Feb 26 in Rangos Ballroom.* We are inviting
Dmitry Demidov from across town to teach a Latin workshop. We are also
inviting Christine to teach some Bronze Smooth as well as a workshop on
Practice and Competition Mindset.
Group lessons, semiprivate lessons, and private lessons are all available,
at a discounted rate for students. We highly recommend attending this
workshop. Keep your eyes peeled; the signup form will be in this weekend's
regular email.
