Lessons

If you've already signed up for lessons, you'll receive another email from
me with the Zoom link and more info today. If you don't have an email with
the lesson links by 9AM the day of lessons, please let me know! I am bccing
a lot of people which seems to cause some email services to register it as
suspicious/spam. Please check your junk or spam folder, and if it's not
there, email me!

(CMU BDC) Events

Mark your calendars because we’re in for a (hopefully) fun-filled
semester! Reminders will be sent out closer to the events. The dates/times
will be posted on the CMU BDC calendar which you can see by clicking here

*Semi-Weekly Events*

*Ballroom Workouts*

Join us for ballroom workouts! Expect: dancing, fun, new fancy moves, and
the most (or least important thing) actual exercise!

*In-person Meetups*

If you’re comfortable meeting up (socially distancing of course), we’d love
to hang out with you. Outdoor picnics, sunshine (or rain), and potentially
some dancing from 6 feet away awaits!

*Movie Nights*

Want a nice relaxing night? We’ll be showing a movie and hanging out
together.

*Game Nights*

Bored? Want to meet new people, or even your friends? Come by game night to
hangout and play some games together! *There will be one this Saturday from

Like food? Like tea? Like human interactions? If you like at least one of
them, join us on Wednesdays!

*Board Game Night (Must have Tabletop Simulator) *

Want to play some intense board games? As long as you have a tabletop
simulator, join us in playing various games. You won’t be bored at our
board game night (Pun intended ;) ) .

*Pop-Up Hangouts in Discord*

Instead of randomly meeting on campus, we can randomly meet on Discord
(except not random). Meet new people, chat with friends, or talk about your
life at our pop-up hangouts! Keep an eye on official announcements to know
when they are!


*Bigger One-Off Events*
*Careers with Our Alumni *

Want to learn about what life after academics is really like? From what
their experience in industry is like, to how to even get that job; a small
panel of alumni from various fields will be joining us to answer all of
your questions!

*Makeover Night *

It’s take to dust off your tuxedos, dresses, makeup, hair products or
whatever else you need to give yourself a transformation! This night will
feature life tutorials on how to do fancy makeup and hair; time to online
shop and dream (or photoshop things on yourself), chatting with friends
while chilling and dressing up, and to end it all: a virtual fashion show.
Everyone is welcome! Come by since this will be a night to remember!


(Collegiate Ballroom) Events
USA Dance has put together a few cool initiatives to keep the collegiate
ballroom scene thriving.

*Dancing Universities Facebook Group*
This group is for all members of Collegiate Social and Competitive Ballroom
Dance Clubs. Each week they will host live lessons covering a variety of
topics and taught by teachers from all over the United States. The
recordings will be posted in the group and organized by level and style.

They also have a Discord group for collegiate dancers all over the US to

*Virtual Competition*
USA Dance is hosting a virtual competition open to any collegiate dancer in
the US. Here is a link

with more info. We'd love for many CMU ballroom dancers to register! A
thing to note is that unlike past competitions, you register yourself.
*Registration
closes on October 16th*, so be sure to register soon if you're interested.

Announcements
Ballroom is (still) on Discord!! Come hang out with us, make friends, and
create a ballroom community across the ages (Alumni are also encouraged to
join)! We'll be having some popup events on there as well. Here is the
