Hello Ballroom Friends!

I hope you are excited for the return of our dance lessons (read below for
details)!

For those of you who recently joined, both the Newcomer lessons (professionally
taught!) and the Beginner lessons are right for you (no experience
necessary).  We suggest you come at 7:30 PM and stay for both.  Then, later
in the evening at 9:30 PM, we are beginning semester-long Salsa/Bachata classes
(professionally taught!) that are also perfect for beginners (no experience
necessary).  Come learn them all!!!

Please find our full schedule for the week listed below.  Note the room
change on each day. (Normally we are just in Rangos, but lessons start in
Connan this week.)  Keep reading for exciting announcements about upcoming
events, including our first social!

*If you are joining us for the first time or new to dancing, the Newcomer
and Beginner Lessons are both perfect for you!
*Salsa/Bachata are also great options for new members!
All classes are open to both students and non-students.

Pricing:
For students, beginner lessons cost a flat $30 for the entire semester.
Add the professionally taught newcomer classes for only $5 more!

*Upcoming Events and Announcements*

*Social Chair Elections* (Wed., Sept. 20 @ 10:15 PM in Rangos)

We will be holding a special election to fill the Social Chair position on
our officers board.  The election will take place on Wednesday, September
20 at 10:15 PM in Rangos (following the last lesson).  Be sure to come and
cast your vote!  If you are interested in running for the social chair
position please fill out this form

 by September 17 at 12:00 PM (noon).  The form also contains a link to a
description of officer duties and a link to a description of the election
process.  At least one semester experience in the club recommended.

*Saturday Dance Social!!!* (Sat., Sept. 23 @ 7:00 PM in Rangos)

We're having our *first social dance* of the year on Sat., Sept. 23 at 7:00
PM.  There will be a free Hustle lesson from 7:00-7:45 PM along with lots
of free snacks.  Come use those cool dance moves you've been learning!

*Glenn Weiss Workshops* (Sat., Sept. 30 @ 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM in Rangos)

Glenn Weiss was a *two-time world champion* professional dancer in dances
like Waltz, Foxtrot, and Tango!  We've invited him to come teach workshops
on Sat., Sept. 30.   *For newcomers, there is a lesson at 10:00 AM* (workshops
for other levels later).  You can sign up for classes here

*Competition Team*
Are you interested in practicing your dance skills?  How about hanging out
with friends on weekend road trips to neighboring cities for competitions?
Our competition team might be right for you!!!  We practice from 12:30-3:30
PM on Saturdays and Sundays in the UC Activities Room.  We also have fun
social events like apple picking and board game parties.  All experience
levels are welcome, *especially beginners (no experience necessary)*.
