Harrrrro wonderful dancers,
The calendar is completely updated with a few clarifications/notes,
especially about "Newcomer" classes held from 7:30~8:00pm.
Any exceptions to the below information will be emailed as the dates draw
nearer.
*Lessons*
Monday:
- Latin Bronze/Silver: 6~7:30p. Professionally taught, require tryouts
with extended ballroom experience, advanced fees, speak with an officer for
more info.
- *Latin Newcomer: 7:30~8p. Professionally taught, focused on basic
technique, require dedicated attendance. Will be paced at the level of this
year's Rookie competition members, so will be difficult! Open to all who
want to challenge themselves and learn ballroom from the very basics. Fees
included in the Basic package.*
- Advanced Social: 8p~9p. Non-professionally taught by experienced
dancers, for people familiar with the style being taught or proficient
enough in other partner dances to be able to pick this up quickly.
- Social: 9p~10p. Non-professionally taught by experienced dancers. No
experience needed, though we strongly recommend that you take all the
lessons in the set from the very first week as to not hold back fellow
dancers who, for example, attended the first few weeks but now may have to
wait for you to learn the basics from scratch.
- Open floor: 10p~11p. Mix and Mingle + Ballroom + Fun. What more can I
say?
Wednesday:
- Standard Bronze/Silver: 6~7:30p. Professionally taught, require tryouts
with extended ballroom experience, advanced fees, speak with an officer for
more info.
- *Standard Newcomer: 7:30~8p. Professionally taught, focused on basic
technique, require dedicated attendance. Will be paced at the level of this
year's Rookie competition members, so will be difficult! Open to all who
want to challenge themselves and learn ballroom from the very basics. Fees
included in the Basic package.*
- Beginner Latin: 8p~9p. Non-professionally taught by experienced
dancers. No experience needed, though we strongly recommend that you take
all the lessons in the set.
- Beginner Standard: 9p~10p. Non-professionally taught by experienced
dancers. No experience needed, though we strongly recommend that you take
all the lessons in the set.
- Open floor: 10p~11p. Mix and Mingle + Ballroom + Fun. What more can I
say?
*Rooms*:
Generally held in Rangos.
*Comp Team Calendar: Also Completely Updated*
You will see awkward little half hour slots that say something like
"5:30p~6:00p" "Rangos avail". That means we have Rangos reserved from
5:30~11p for you to practice in. However, please don't disturb the lessons
that are being taught. I will growl at you. Grrrr.
*Social VS Latin VS Standard?!!!*
- Social: Danced primarily non-competitively (although there are always
exceptions. ex: Youtube "Lindy Hop Showdown". Yes, that's real speed.)
- Latin: Five dances competed internationally. Rumba, Chacha, Jive,
Samba, and Paso Doble.
- Standard: Five dances competed internationally. Waltz, Quickstep,
Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz.

P.S. Shoe orders are taking place until Friday! You should have gotten an
email about this already, but click on the Google Form link and then click
on the top link on that form. It will take you to the Ballroom Shoe website.
Actual dancing shoes will improve your dancing (and protect your feet) like
none other! We recommend that you order a half size smaller than shoe size.
No pre-payment, no shoes!
