Hello dancers,

If you are a CMU student, please check out the following announcements.

***CARNIVAL RIDES***

Spring Carnival 2011: “When I Was Your Age” is rapidly approaching and I hope that
you are getting excited for Booth, Buggy, food, fun, and RIDES!As act ive members of student organizations on campus, we are offering a special pre-sale of advanced-sale rides tickets between March 18 and March 30 and each ticket will be redeemable for one ride on midway. Individual tickets will be sold for $1.25 and strips of 8 tickets are available for $10. The advance sale rides tickets offer is a wonderful advantage as they are redeemable for any ride on Midway with one ticket, whereas with normal tickets, you will need to purchase multiple tickets to ride.

If you would like to purchase the advance tickets, please let me know how many you want. They are available on a first-come first-serve basis, and will be available for pickup in the Spring Carnival Office by April 5. Please do this soon, as I imagine they do not have too many of these tickets available.

***LUNCH***

CMU hosts a take a prospective student to lunch thing, and they are looking for more students to participate. If you guys are free during the times they are looking foe, I encourage you to sign up. It's a good opportunity to meet some incoming students, tell them about CMU, and maybe even recruit them to ballroom! ;P And you get a free lunch :) Check out the details below if you're interested.

Every April, Carnegie Mellon University's Office of Undergraduate
Admissions invites thousands of prospective students to campus. These are students who have already been accepted into Carnegie Mellon University and are deciding whether or not to attend next year. We offer a program to them entitled *Take A Student To Eat *(or TASTE for short), in which a few CMU
students take a few prospective students to eat on campus every day in April (Mon-Fri) at either 12 or 12:30. We are working hard to make the process even more streamlined this year so that we do not waste anyone's time. We would need volunteers to come eat with these prospective students for every day in April. This being said, if you sign up, you will NOT need to come every day, unless you specify this to me in an email.

Below is a link to a google doc in which you can sign up for this program. I will then email you the week of your shift to let you know which day and time I would like you to come and eat with the students. You WILL be getting a free meal card for this lunch and you can go anywhere on campus. However, you MUST bring back the dining card this year, since there are only a limited number of cards total.

This opportunity is a great way to meet prospective students who may end up attending CMU in the fall. A lot of the people who come to TASTE end up joining the school and go on to join a lot of the activities and organizations you are a part of! It also gives the students a real and true perspective of what CMU is. It is really fun and you always meet the most interesting people. If you can sign up for even ONE time slot for the entire month, it would be awesome!

For the google doc, I need your name, andrew ID, year, major/minor, some activities you're involved in, whether or not you are Greek, and what you're available for (Mon-Fri, either 12 or 12:30). For example: John Doe, Jdoe, Junior, MechE, Robotics/Buggy/DS, Greek, M/W 12 pm. Please ONLY give me your availability for the times you absolutely are available.
