Eric/Don,

Based on what I've seen over the last two weeks...

The DirectPlay and the "Press Win + G to see the game console" seem to be
a Windows 10 issue and it has to do with gaming. I installed Alice 2.5.4 on
about 20 Windows 10 PC's, (think I mentioned some of this earlier) and got
the DirectPlay notice on about half the machines. On one of the machines,
ignored the install on DirectPlay, and Alice ran with no problems. We have
been using the new versions of both Alice 2.x and 3.x and are not
experiencing any other noticeable issues. I have had the students create
new programs and also open previously created ones, all seems good so far.
Most of the students did not even notice the update. There is mo noticeable
difference. I can not pinpoint why it happened on only about half the
computers as all PC's are identical.

As for the Blue Box "Press Win + G to see the game console" that is a
built-in (and safe) feature of Windows 10 for screen capture, primarily
used for gaming, but can be used to screen capture anything. Best guess is
that Windows 10 is identifying Alice 2.5.4 as a video game, probably
because of the DirectPlay connection, and so it launches the screen capture
to ask if you want to use it. If you just ignore the Blue Box, it goes away
without causing any issues.

If you send a copy of the worlds that are causing the issues, we'll run
them on our end and see what happens if you want some testing help.

Keith
