Hi All,

Question: Is there a way in Alice 3.2 to create a keyboard event - let's say press the A key and have the object do the event while the key is being pressed and then do something else when the key is released?

Thanks, Jennifer

Peter,
Thank you for this… I am experiencing the same problems on my Mac… It is interesting that from the drop down menus when you right click on ChongMei, you are often not given the option to select the entire ChongMei. Somehow this object has become corrupt within the project file. We will take a look at it.

One thing I experimented with was to add another object of this type to the world, and called it ChongMei_2. I was able to do that, place him where the original ChongMei was; set the visible property of the original ChongMei to false, and substitute ChongMei_2 for all of the original ChongMei’s procedures, and the world seems to be functionally equivalent to what you sent us.

I hope that this helps…

This is an awesome project, by the way.

Thank you, and all the best,
Don Slater

Peter,

It also looks like you are in Java display mode. What happens if you switch to Alice display mode in Preferences?

Did you save your world (under a different name), quit Alice, and then restart Alice to see if the screen refreshed?

You might open one of the backup files in the backup directory to see what is going on there.

What version of Alice, what OS platform, are you using?

Send us a copy of the project of you continue to have problems with it.

All the best,
Don Slater
