Windows uses the DirectX renderer while MacOS uses the JOGL renderer, and the JOGL code to display the dragged tile has not been implemented in Alice version 2.4.3. You will be able to see the tile while dragging in the latest Alice 2.4.4 version.

 I am using Alice 2.4.3.
I tried using the “use alpha blending in picked up tiles” option. In Windows 8.1 (running under Parallels), when this option is on, the tiles appear under the Alice window. (See screenshots.)
In Mac OS X 10.12.2, I can’t see the dragged tiles at all. It doesn’t matter which tiles options are on. There is a tiny dot under the mouse that lags just enough to see it sometimes. Also, the tiles don’t seem to have the handles on the left edge like they should. See screenshot. I am using a retina display.
Finally, I don’t recommend running Alice in Parallels and MacOS together. They use the same preferences file and get each other confused, especially with regard to file paths.
