alice-teacher Export Video

Dear All,

We are unaware of any issues in using the export video functionality in Alice 2 but please let us know if there are so we can address.  

As for Alice 3 we are aware that the upload to youtube functionality in Alice 3 is not working due to an outdated api.  On some platforms you can still use this to save a video file to the computer and upload (it is a file format that works well for youtube but that requires VLC or other options for playing locally).  On other platforms even the local save doesn’t work.  We have a fix for this implemented that we hope to have released in the next month.  There are still some issues that we are working through that causes issues when audio is used in the world.  

We are planning on doing a more extensive update to the flow and functionality of the video capture on Alice 3 for release in the spring.  We apologize if this is complicating students ability to share and we understand that using third party video capture is a challenge for some so we are definitely prioritizing these fixes and upgrades.  We do really want to make it as easy as possible for students to share their creations.

If you have any specifics around the platform or errors you are seeing that you would like to share please do send them to us so we can be sure we are aware of and fixing as many of these issues as we can.
