alice-teacher Scene change in Alice 3.1.92

You cannot change from the Room scene to an outdoor scene at the present time, or from an outdoor to the room, but you are able to change the ground textures with in a scene, from grass to snow for example. (See the attached screen shot)…

Use the setPaint method of the Ground object, and from the drop down menu select the ground texture you want (or you can import an image, or choose a color)…

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Later,
Don Slater

Apparently there isn't that option. I've played around with it a lot and I can't figure out how to do this. I don't have a book, we work with tutorials, demonstration and my knowledge after using Alice for a few years with my students. We don't have a whole class on this, just 2 weeks in an introductory computer science class. I have several preps and too many students in a computer class (35), so I don't have a tremendous amount of time to keep trying to find the answer. That's why I turned to the Alice distribution list. I thought I remembered changing backgrounds in the past, but apparently I was wrong. Thank you for your response.
