Don,
I have had no problems running any versions (2.3, 2.4, and 3) on my MacBook Air....
It may be an issue with the computer itself.

Hi Don:
I recently installed Alice 2.4 on my Macbook Air (Mavericks)
for a class thru the University of Phoenix. Whenever I try to use it, the CPU peaks, then it gets hot, the fan is constantly on. Anything I should do? I looked through FAQ's, as well as known bugs 2.x. Wasn't sure if there is a patch or something, or I need to install 3?
