I had a student with the same problem, I will have him look at the version. Are previous versions on the Alice website?

Thanks,

Subject: Re: alice-teacher Alice 3 issue with Mac File

An Alice .a3p file will open in any version of Alice it does not matter the OS it was created on... However

Make sure that the Alice version at home is the same as the Alice version at school... It is very possible that if the students version at home is later than the version at school, there may be compatibility problems. We make every effort to make sure that Alice programs written on earlier versions of Alice 3.1 can be opened in newer versions, but it is not possible to be backward compatible...

Make sure that the student is trying to open the file from within Alice itself, and not just double-clicking on the .a3p file. IN most cases, double-clicking an .a3p will not start Alice and load the program...

Let me know if you continue to have problems...

All the best,
Don Slater
