Hi team,
I think we found another bug, and possibly a feature request.
1. A student created a "road" by squashing a cube. They were using the height/width/depth input fields to change its dimensions. They had explicitly unlinked width from height, but changing one field still changed the other proportionally. I assume that that is a bug. (Ie. If the road is 5 x 50 x .5, and they unlink, they should be able to change it to 5 x 100 x .5 without any difficulty. This was not happening; regardless of the state of the chain link, they would get 10 x 100 x .5.)
2. Rotation is not broken out textually, but they apparently bumped the cube, so that it "fell off" of the ground plane. Getting a road to lie perpendicular to the road is difficult without the ability to set rho/theta/phi in addition to x/y/z and d/w/h. Having those would be useful.
Those are the thoughts of the moment; I'm passing them along while I remember. The Alice version is... 3.1.77 on Windows 7 64-bit, Java version unknown at this time. I have not attempted to replicate this on later versions of Alice, or on other platforms.
Cheers,
Matt
