alice-teacher random number generator

[Appel, Florence A.]

I have been having some problems with this function.  A program with two
different calls to the random number generator function does not behave
properly - it appears that although integers are specified, they are not
being produced by the function.  Any thoughts?  Thank you!

I always warn my students that surfing the web for free .wav files
(actually free anything) is a good way to pick up a virus, so I
encourage them to use our campus computers that are well-protected and
automatically refreshed with every boot.  Also, my students are
college-age so I don't have to worry about any movie clips that have
foul language.  With that said, I point my students to the following web
