Hello -
I am starting teaching a high school graphic computer programming class in the fall. I am currently using Virtual World Design and Creation for Teens by C. Hardnett. Although it is helping me get the very basic gist of the program, I would like to better understand why the commands chosen work, and why there are methods, variables, worlds, etc. Does anyone have a particular resource that he/she likes for both an introduction to programming and to using Alice? Also, if you have any sample syllabi that you'd be willing to share, I would love to see them. It is up to me to design the course, and I am currently thinking that I will either do one full year of Alice or one semester of Alice and one semester of Java.
Thoughts?
Thank you,
Emily Higgins
