Hello everyone,
I'm teaching College for Kids this summer. I'm looking for a good role-playing game for the students, that also has lesson plans. If anyone has suggestions I would appreciate it. Thanks you in advance for your help.

I have used DarkBASIC professional for physics based games. You can get the entire DarkBASIC Pro bundle for $49.99 at www.thegamecreators.com<http://www.thegamecreators.com> There is a free phyics plugin called Newton Dynamics that you can find on the site's forums

If you're after physics experimentation in a game, I'd also look at garry's mod for half-life. This will allow limited game creation from within the environment, and will also allow complex player interaction as well. There have been a couple of starts at using garry's mod in a school setting, but there's nothing i know of that is pitched at the 10y.o.

Note that playing amongst peers would be recommended with parental supervision (or teacher led) and a controlled set of assets, but would not recommend playing online in open servers.

Have you tried gamemaker? Excellent drag and drop interface supported by GML language which is very C like, you can do collision detection etc very easily.

Hi -- I got this query from a friend and can't answer it as I haven't looked for that in Alice yet. Can anyone offer and answer?

Does anyone know if any of the usual game creation programs - Scratch,
Alice, etc. - can be used to create physics-type games? If not, which
programs might be best to start out with? This is for my almost 10
year old.

Thanks,
