Hi everyone, We have Brianna Wimer joining us in-person (NSH 4201) tomorrow  
noon. Please find the talk details below: Talk info: There has been a  
growing interest in making data visualizations more accessible, yet the  
focus has predominantly been on the Blind and Low-Vision community, often  
neglecting other disability groups. Brianna will discuss the current  
application of accessible data visualizations for underrepresented  
communities and how we can broaden our understanding and scope of what  
accessible data visualizations entail to be more inclusive. The ultimate  
objective is to enhance overall accessibility, ensuring that advancements  
in data visualization are inclusive of all individuals with disabilities.

Graphics.] Speaker bio: Brianna Wimer is a Ph.D. student in Computer  
Science and Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. She is also a  
visiting researcher at the University of Washington's Make4All Lab. Her  
research focuses on designing, implementing, and assessing accessible data  
representations that enhance the accessibility of data visualizations for  
individuals with disabilities. Her ongoing projects focus on devising  
accessible ways to represent text-dense diagrams utilizing generative AI  
technologies. Brianna has been recognized as a 2023 Google Ph.D. Fellow.  
She received her B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Alabama.
