[Access Lunch] Reading for 4/26 (1:30-2:30pm EDT)

Hi Everyone!

This week for accessibility lunch we will read a CSCW 2020 paper titled “Sociocultural Dimensions of Tracking Health and Taking Care" by Karthik S. Bhat and Neha Kumar.

This paper investigates how and why people use (or do not use) technology such as health tracking applications to manage cardiac disease by interviewing with 18 people with cardiac disease (in Bangalore, India) along with their families, and 8 doctors. I look forward to chatting about: What are the ecological and cultural factors that impact "self-tracking"? What are the trade-offs of recording health-related data? How can future tech provide better support?
