Good Afternoon Everyone,

I hope everyone is aware that our current CMU Id cards are being replaced with SMART cards. If you are not aware I have the email referenced below. I have spoken with Jenna about making this a smooth and easy transition for us here off site at Penn Ave. I know everyone does not drive so commuting over to campus can be difficult for some. Jenna and I have worked it out that I will be picking up everyone’s New Id’s from the HUB and bringing them here to Penn Ave for distribution. You will turn in your old id to me, where I will then return them all at once to the HUB.

This will be like when new parking passes come out and I have them here at the front desk. If you have any questions or concerns please just let me know.

Dear Carnegie Mellon Staff Member,

New SMART Cards<http://www.cmu.edu/idplus/smart/facultystaff.html> will be distributed to CMU Pittsburgh campus staff beginning July 15, 2013 in Andy’s Alcove located in the University Center. Detailed distribution information, including dates and times, can be found on the website. Please be advised that you must exchange your most current, active ID Card in order to receive the new SMART Card. Any SMART Cards not picked up in the UC between July 15 and 19 will be available for pick up in The HUB during regular business hours<http://www.cmu.edu/hub/hours.html>.

The HUB is working to set up separate distribution dates and times to accommodate staff members who are not located in the Oakland area of Pittsburgh (i.e. PPG, NREC, etc.) and are unable to pick up their SMART Card during the week of July 15, 2013. Please feel free to contact me if you are located off campus and have questions about SMART Card distribution.

If you would like to update your ID photo in preparation for the new SMART Card, please be sure to do so before June 15, 2013 by visiting the ID Photo Submission Application<http://www.cmu.edu/idplus/idcards/idphotos.html> on The HUB website. The ID photo on file as of June 16, 2013 will be used for your new SMART Card.
