UPDATE:

The domestic water will be off again on Wednesday 7-7-10 early morning and
will be back in service on Thursday morning 7-8-10 by 7:00 am.

This should be the final shutdown for the domestic water service as the new
exterior line will be tied into the building lines during this shutdown.

Work will continue on the fire line service which should not impact the
domestic service.

UPDATE #3 6/29/2010

The domestic water service a 6555 Penn Ave is scheduled to be back in
service Wednesday morning 6-30-10 by 7:00 am.

The line work will proceed down the hill where the sawcuts are located in
the asphalt.  Some parking spaces in the center will be blocked until the
new line is installed and backfilled, these spaces will open up typically
daily as the line work is installed toward the loading dock.

There will be other domestic water shut downs during the final tie-in work
in the near future.  A notice will be issued prior to the additional shut
downs.

UPDATE #2 -6/25/10:

The domestic water service will be off at 6555 Penn Ave from 7:00 AM Monday,
June 28, until 7:00 AM Wednesday, June 30.  Portable toilets have been
placed for use during this shutdown.  Please refrain from parking in the
construction areas.

UPDATE:

The water line replacement work at 6555 Penn Ave will be commencing this
evening with sawcutting through the parking lot and adjacent Penn Ave.

The initial water line shutdown is currently scheduled for Thursday evening
6-24-10 at approx 7:00 pm.  The domestic water service is expected to be
back in operation sometime during the day Friday 6-25-10.

Portable toilets have been placed for use during this shutdown. 

Please refrain from parking in the areas that have been sawcut adjacent the
building.

SUBJECT: 6555 Penn Ave Water Line Replacement 6/22/2010

 

 

The main water line at 6555 Penn Ave is scheduled for replacement beginning
the evening of 6-22-10.

All efforts are being made to maintain the domestic water service during
this replacement however there will be a few shut downs for the tie-ins.

 

The first shutdown could be as early as Thursday 6-24-10.  This shutdown is
expected to last for one day. There will be future service shutdowns for
additional tie-ins that will be announced.  Portable toilets will be placed
during this work in case of unexpected issues.

 

All parking spaces nearest the building will be blocked for this work.
Pedestrian access to the building will be maintained and plates will be in
place at open trenches.

 

The work will begin at Penn Ave during the evening due to the City of
Pittsburgh requirements for lane closures on Penn.  Please pay attention to
any restrictions and barricades during this work.
