[6555-penn] Penn Avenue Visitors

All,

 

The university agreed to the use of Penn Avenue's second floor auditorium
for a graduate class offered through the College of Fine Arts.  If you were
in the office on Wednesday, you most likely saw (and heard) the students.
I've already addressed our concerns including noise level, use of the Campus
Services main entrance for entry/exit, and permitted use of the first floor
bathrooms and vending areas only.  Tiffany has a list of participants and
will continue to ensure the security of our work space.  

 

The class meets from 9:30 am -12:00 pm, Mondays and Wednesdays.  Louder work
may happen when the actors are present (10:30 am -noon on both days).  We've
requested that they please use "inside" voices during practice time, and
that we would try to work around the noise on the day of the actual
performances.  Additional details will be shared as they become available.
There may even be an opportunity for a limited number of staff to view the
performances (very cool!)   

 

FMS still needs to complete some work on the second floor before we can
allow use of the space.  We should anticipate completion of this work within
the next couple weeks.

 

If you have any concerns as we move forward, please be sure to send me
email.  I'll maintain close communication with the professor as we try out
sharing our building for classroom purposes.  Personally I think that it is
really nice to have campus visitors at Penn Avenue, especially students.
