The ACM Symposium on Cloud Computing 2014 (ACM SoCC 2014) will be the fifth<br>
in a series of symposia that brings together researchers, developers, users,<br>
and practitioners interested in cloud computing. ACM SoCC is the premier<br>
conference on cloud computing; it is the only conference co-sponsored by the<br>
ACM Special Interest Groups on Management of Data (SIGMOD) and on Operating<br>
Systems (SIGOPS). In 2014 SoCC will be held in Seattle, Washington, USA.<br>
<br>
The scope of SoCC is broad and encompasses diverse systems topics such as<br>
software as a service, virtualization, and scalable cloud data services.<br>
Many facets of systems and data management issues must be revisited in the<br>
context of cloud computing. Suggested topics for paper submissions include<br>
but are not limited to:<br>

Paper submission:<br>
** Deadline: July 18 at midnight PDT.<br>
** Notification of acceptance/rejection will occur by September 18.<br>

Authors are invited to submit original papers that are not being considered<br>
for publication in any other forum. Manuscripts should be submitted in PDF<br>
format and formatted in 10-point type using the templates available at<br>
<a href="https://sites.google.com/site/2014socc/home/call-for-papers" target="_blank">https://sites.google.com/site/2014socc/home/call-for-papers</a>.<br>

A submission to the symposium may be one of the following types:<br>
1. Research papers: original research work in the broad area of cloud<br>
computing.<br>
2. Industrial papers: presentations describing experiences with deployed,<br>
state-of-the-art cloud systems.<br>
3. Vision papers: speculative but well-reasoned, thought-provoking essays.<br>
<br>
All SoCC submissions will be held to a high quality standard, and evaluated<br>
based on their originality, technical merit, topical relevance, value to the<br>
community, and likelihood of leading to insightful technical discussions at<br>
the symposium. Submissions will be kept confidential.<br>

Tutorial proposals: Those wishing to give a tutorial at SoCC 2014 should<br>
submit a two-page proposal to the program co-chairs via email.<br>
