The conference is for interested U.S., Ph.D.-granting institutions to learn about the next ASC academic program, which is a follow-on to the present ASC Predictive Science Academic Alliance Program (PSAAP) (see <a href="http://www.sandia.gov/NNSA/ASC/univ/psaap.html">http://www.sandia.gov/NNSA/ASC/univ/psaap.html</a>). The three major focus areas of the new ASC Alliance program will be:<br><br>I. Development and demonstration of technologies and methodologies to support effective Exascale computing in the context of science/engineering applications; <br>II. "Predictive Science" based on verification and validation and uncertainty quantification (V&V/UQ) for large-scale simulations; <br>III.
