<div><br></div> Our Fighting Schola will be meeting this Wednesday, 6:30-8:30 after being postponed last week. If it rains we'll meet at the usual location outside of Baker, and then walk together to an indoor place where we can practice unarmored. <br>The usual info:<br> We will be hosting a Fighting <span><span><span class="il">Schola</span></span></span> at Carnegie Mellon, this <b>Wednesday, 6:30-8:30</b>.
I would like to invite anyone interested in learning more about the
basics of fighting to join us (students will have priority in borrowing
loaner armor). Much of the class will be unarmored, so feel free to
come to learn more, even if you are hesitant to hop into armor.
Experienced fighters, I would like to invite you to join us to teach and
spar with newcomers (bring armor, and extra weapons).<br><br>This week,
our local Knight Marshal, Shiro, will be teaching on Japanese Fighting
styles. Shiro is another of my favorite teachers, and we'll be learning
about katana fighting - a single edged, two handed sword. There will
be good things to learn, even for the experienced fighter, so I hope you
can join us!<br><br>For those not so martially inclined, we also have folks doing fiber arts concurrently with the fighting instruction.<br><br>Location and Directions:<br>We will be meeting outside at Carnegie Mellon University, between Baker and Doherty halls,<a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?daddr=40.441795%2c-79.94411&hl=en&sll=40.441607%2c-79.943696&sspn=0.00207%2c0.005284&vpsrc=0&mra=mift&mrsp=1&sz=18&t=m&z=18" target="_blank"> here.</a> You can park for free on Frew street just after the library (now free) or at Phipps (its closed at that time). <br>
