Anyone can contribute to the gift, the question is usually: what kind of thing is appropriate?</DIV>

<DIV>Typically, gifts of favorite foods or foods that are particular to our area are good, homemade foods decorated with comets or escarbuncles are nice, snacks or small toys for their children (if applicable) are usually welcome. These are not high cost items, it is the care and thoughtfulness that count.</DIV>

<DIV>Also appropriate are small things that can be used as thank you gifts by the royals -- this is called largess, and anyone can give this kind of token of thanks or appreciation to anyone. I've seen handmade bead earrings, bookmarks, prayer beads, needle cases, fan holders, escarbuncle pins, woven medallion cords ... almost anything can be a token or can make a good gift basket item.</DIV>
