*History of soapmaking and which process (hot or cold) is more likely authentic<br>*How to render animal fats to make tallow <br>*How to make your own lye if you are so inclined<br>*Recipe(s) you can try at home - as authentically as you like or not
<br><br>Because of the types of processes involved, this is not
primarily a hands on class, but you should leave equipped with all the
information you need to make your own <span id="st" name="st" class="st">soap</span> at home, and maybe even some sample <span id="st" name="st" class="st">soap</span>.
<br><br>The class will be held in room 542 of the William Pitt Union,
on the corner of Fifth and Bigelow in Oakland. Street parking is
generally available within a block or two.<span name="st"></span><span name="st">
