<DIV>From the Purim websites I found, dressing up in costume (as Queen Esther or Mordechai etc) started as early as the 12th or 13th century (well, that they can document). Effectively, what I am interested in is knowing what medieval Jews would have thought Queen Esther etc would have worn: what their Purim costumes were, not what they wore on a day to day basis. I'm sorry; I should have made that more clear :)</DIV>
