Practice is at our indoor winter location, starting at 11am and lasting until 3pm. The location is, if you need it: Ace Axe Throwing, 145 E 8th Ave, Homestead, PA 15120. You can park in the Aldi parking lot, and head towards the old bank. Entrance is around the opposite side. Simply walk straight in and ask where the elevator to the SCA practice is if you don't know. Practice is on the "penthouse" or 5th floor. I will have very limited rapier/cut & thrust loaner equipment and weapons available. If anyone is interested, at the beginning of practice I will be doing a brief description/demo of how you fight with rapier legal spears. Otherwise, we will have free sparring and then a bearpit. See you then! -Clewin Kupferhelbelinc -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Then Gwen was my support, literally, at my writ. Next came herding cats, kaminarians, and other beings for vigil planning and execution. Gwen dealt with the last minute venue switch. Once the vigil and reception were done Gwen heralded the procession of Hara and added taiko drumming. Thank you for being the leader and voice for me. Thank you Magnus for your drive and ambition to have a household of your own. I was part of that original household and have remained a part. We have lost members and gained new and it is a good household that is kind and welcoming and not too scary. Thank you too for calling me fierce. Thank you Hilda. You offered to take me as a protege and gave me a belt all those years ago at the Barony reception at Pennsic. I was your "number one" protege. Then you continued to share your council, your praise, and your encouragement with me. When I was down you gave me council and helped me through some tough times. Your appreciation of my sewing, braiding, dyeing, and my first event to autocrat have kept me going. You wear your daffodil Japanese outfit with pride and style. Although I returned my belt, I will always want to hear your thoughts and advice. Thank you Kieran. I love the scroll you created for my writ. This was my inspiration for a poetry scroll for my elevation. Thank you Jorundr for the guidance that you provided from writ to elevation. It was very down-to-earth and helped me prioritize my tasks. Also thank you for the Japanese garb at Ice Dragon. Thank you three times to Hrefna. I asked you to paint a laurel on the fan and embroider a laurel on the uchikake. However, you did research and found documentation and kits for making Hana Kanzashi, the hair ornaments with flowers. When I said yes please for all of the above, that's what you did. Each item you created or embellished was beautiful. Thank you T'svee'a. You have been a sewing expert resource for me and everyone else for years. When you were unable to keep sewing circle going you let me take over. You have continued as sewing consultant and general wise sage through the years. For the actual ceremony you generously paid for the fabric for my elevation uchikake. I shared the remainder of your generous gift as obis for my worthies and herald. Thank you Tierrany Rose for showing the barony your finely bound books at Twelfth Night. It is a honor to have one of these books as my vigil book. My book is a treasure both of your skill and for the words it holds. Thank you Forveleth for braiding, general help during setup and tear down, and for carrying the household banner. Keep sewing! We will get you outfitted. Thank you Sasson for your last minute plans to come to Ice Dragon and to make onigiri in four flavors for the vigil reception. Thank you Brandubh for coming to Ice Dragon and wearing your fine baronial Japanese garb and carrying the barony banner in my procession. Elss and Elsa for enthusiastically sewing Japanese garb for Ice Dragon and to wear in future. You can to the event and Elsa carried my personal banner with Elss next to her. Thank you to my traveling friends who made plans to attend Ice Dragon to witness my elevation and especially Alaric and Muriel who wore Japanese outfits in celebration. Thank you to my guests at the vigil who visited me and offered words and also to those who wrote in my book. Your words mean a lot to me. I took notes and have those notes, the vigil book, and my memories to guide me in the future. Special thanks to my visitors for whom this was their first vigil. Your words have extra significance to me because you are newer friends. Thank you Ishiyama my dearest darling honey bunny. You have been with me often leading me for my entire journey learning and exploring Japanese culture, arts, clothing, customs, food, and the country. You have supported me, helped me, taught me, encouraged me, and loved me every step of the way. Your fine dressing has set the standard for how to look spiffy in Japanese. Your urge to bling everything has made our home, our tent, our household, Yama Kaminari, the Barony and the Kingdom look better. Your braids adorned the hangesa, and vigil tokens, your ideas for hangesa came to fruition, and my Japanese style person banner was great. You looked so impressive at the vigil and at court. You urged people to sign the vigil book, stood with me waiting, processed to the thrones at my side, and spoke on my behalf. Thank you for all these things and so much more. Thank you everyone. At war practice there will be a chance to celebrate my elevation to the Order of the Laurel after royal court Saturday evening. I hope you have the time to come visit me. We will be camping on rune stone hill just above the rune stone. I wanted to save this for war practice so I could see more people. The address is located in the Dark Pages! We are starting at 4:00pm. Their Graces have offered to let us have a potluck and enjoy the evening while we await the results. The evening will end at 8pm. REMINDER: The official count will start at 4:30 PM at which time any valid ballot in a sealed envelop not in the hands of His Excellency Brandubh shall become null and void. Additionally; Their Graces? Castle is in the process of renovation. Please note that the driveway is extremely treacherous with many caltrops to impede descending hordes. Plan to walk down the driveway! The grass used for parking has also suffered from the masses of laborers who have been assisting with the renovation.
