Greetings, good gentles and friends.

I write to you today as the Chair of the Selection Committee for the Baronial Elections. We will have our nominating meeting during the Baronial 12th-night celebrations (probably right after court). The Selection Committee welcomes any nominations in person at the nominating meeting, but you may also nominate someone by sending me an email before the meeting. After the meeting ends, there can be no further nominations, so if you're not sure whether you can make it to that part of the 12th night event, please send me the email now. You can certainly do both: send me an email now AND announce your nomination at the meeting!

You may nominate a pair of people for Baron&Baroness, or you may nominate a single person to serve as Baron or Baroness alone. People often nominate themselves. Although some people enjoy announcing a nomination with a flowery speech, others prefer a succinct statement of names, and others prefer to tell me their nominations privately, without announcing it at the meeting. All of these are acceptable.

At the conclusion of the nominating meeting, I will announce any names that were not spoken publicly during the meeting (i.e. emails and private conversations). Thus, all potential condidates will have been announced publicly by the conclusion of the nominating meeting.

If you are nominated at the meeting, but do not wish to serve, please accept the nomination; it is a compliment. I will be contacting each nominee after the meeting to determine whether they feel fit to serve as our next Baron or Baroness.

If you have other questions about the election process, there is lots of information on the Baronial web site ( www.debatablelands.org ), or you can write me an email. I look forward to seeing everyone at 12th night.

In Service,

Byron
