But this doesn't accomplish anything, does it?
A consort must be of the opposite gender.
Crowns may permit entry of same-gender couples.
This does *not* say that someone may fight for a same-gender consort,
merely that both members of a same-gender couple can enter the list.
Which they already can. As long as they're fighting for someone else,
which is still the only way they can as based on the wording of this
change.
I assume the *intent* is to allow Crowns to permit same-sex consorts,
but that's not what it says.
