... the small amount of spam slipping through
So there is a problem here.
When a valid member has email that is compromised and posts a small
message to the list, there is no reasonable way of catching it as things
stand.
On other lists I've managed, i've set up a "first post" rule that looks
for the list tag ([SCA-AE] in this list) in the subject line. If the
message does not have that in it, that first message is moderated.
All subsequent posts will have [SCA-AE] in the subject line and will
fall back to the old rules for moderation (must be a member, must be
plain text, etc). If the original postor of the thread puts [SCA-AE] in
by hand, then the post will go through, assuming it meets other
criteria.
What do folks think?
Should I implement that measure?
Should I just let the small amount of spam through, and trust folks to
recognize it as such?
other thoughts or suggestions?
