We just saw How to Train Your Dragon this afternoon, too. It might be a little too scary for the really little ones. I'd say intrepid 5-7 year olds are ok, otherwise 8 and above.
My kids (10 and 14) and I liked it - the story line was much better than we expected from the previews, and the animation was quite good - but I'm not so sure about the Oscar.
Warning for Norse purists: The Vikings had horny helmets and spoke with Scottish accents. Just assume it's fantasy and *not* historic, nope, nuh-uh. :-)
